The MX16 RAIL and MX20 are the most compact excavator in their class combined with a powerful 167 hp Cummins stage 4 superior engine.
The two rail wheel axles are operated from the cab by means of the joystick for the gear shift/excavator in the right-hand armrest. The rail wheels are operated individually in order to achieve the correct degree of unloading of the driving wheels. Cameras ensure that the operator from the cab can monitor the rail wheels when they are being lowered onto the track.
The Hydrema Rail System consists of two rail wheel axles mounted on specially designed brackets that can be quickly and easily fitted directly onto a hydraulic quick-hitch or alternatively quickly removed from such a device. The quick hitch device is fitted in the lifting arms for the dozer blades, thus obviating the need for drilling and welding in the chassis of the machine. The main benefit of the system is the quick hitch, which enables the contractor to convert his machine from a railway machine to a standard excavator within a matter of minutes.
The compact upper carriage on MX16 RAIL enables work on double-track railways without disturbing the traffic on the other track.
The MX20 RAIL is designed for heavy lifts, and in the same being the most compact rail excavator in the +20 ton segment.
